Thanks for the interesting comments Todd. Yes, it is unfortunate that an indigenous buffer state was never formed. It really was status quo for Britain and U.S. after the war. Interesting that each country claimed victory. In a way it did set each nation’s trajectory, America confirming its independence and Canada separating itself from the U.S. and beginning the long process toward independence.
